Course Overview

Essentials for Building Management

Building Management has evolved to a branch of its own with various interfaces with laws. Building Management Ordinance (Cap. 344) provides a legal framework for property owners to form owners' corporations (OC) to manage their own buildings. The Ordinance was substantially revamped in 1993 and retitled as the Building Management Ordinance (BMO) to facilitate the incorporation of owners and to provide them with specific powers and responsibilities regarding management of the common parts of the buildings.

Via discussion of lessons learnt from decided cases, the law and practice in the related areas that those involved need to be alerted to are highlighted. Furthermore, via interactive methodologies, participants may acquire adequate legal skills and practical knowledge by a combination of case studies in simulated settings.
