Masterclass with Mr. Charles Ballot of Domaine Ballot Millot

Course Overview

In collaboration with Altaya Wines as part of the Passion for Burgundy 2025 series, we are honored to host Mr. Charles Ballot, owner and winemaker of Domaine Ballot Millot, for an exclusive masterclass at AWSEC on 21st March.

Domaine Ballot Millot is located in the village of Meursault, Côte de Beaune, and is known for producing exceptional white and red wines. The name of the Domaine reflects Charles Ballot's heritage, combining his grandfather's name, Ballot, and his grandmother's name, Millot. As the current owner and winemaker, Charles manages 8 hectares of Chardonnay in Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet, along with 2 hectares of Pinot Noir in Pommard, Volnay, and Beaune. The average age of the vines is 45 years, and Charles represents the 16th generation of his family in this endeavor.

Having spent his childhood in the cellar and vineyard with his father, Charles took over the Domaine in 2000. He is a passionate and fulfilled winemaker who practices organic viticulture, follows the lunar cycle in the cellar, and uses minimal new oak, allowing his wines to express their unique terroirs.
During the masterclass, Charles will lead us through four wines, sharing his passion, insights, and the future of both his family estate and Burgundy wine. This intimate rendezvous promises to be an enriching experience for both ardent and aspiring connoisseurs of Burgundy wines.
