Program Overview
The Master of Social Sciences in Psychology is a rigorous conversion program exclusively designed for graduates holding a first degree in disciplines other than psychology. This comprehensive program provides intensive training across key areas of psychology while maintaining a strong foundation in research methodology and practical applications.
While the curriculum covers all essential domains of psychology capturing contemporary demands in psychological practice and research, our program is delivered by distinguished faculty from multiple disciplines including psychology, neuroscience, education, communication, and healthcare.
Additionally, we offer specialized electives in health psychology. Through our established partnership with the University of Surrey, UK, students who develop an interest in health psychology during their studies with us have unique opportunities for further specialized studies leading to professional practice qualifications.

Aims
The Master of Social Sciences in Psychology Programme is a conversion programme for non-psychology degree holders. It aims to provide intensive training in a broad knowledge base across key areas of psychology with unique emphasis on health-related topics. The programme structure is benchmarked with international standards, aligning with similar conversion programmes offered in other universities. Graduates will fulfill membership requirements of major psychological societies in the world, and be prepared for advanced professional and research postgraduate training in psychology in Hong Kong and overseas.
