The SDL Trados 2022 training will teach you how to get started smoothly with SDL Trados Studio 2022 (and 2021 because this version has a very similar interface). Upon completion of the course, students will be able to translate any document and use the most important features of Trados. This will allow you to freely work in SDL Trados Studio and export the translated document.

Course content and structure

Part 1

The first part of the course will focus on the rationale behind the structure of Studio 2022.

You'll learn why it has become such a popular tool for translation agencies.

You'll also discuss the basics of translation technology and the components of translation software.

Part 2

During the second part of the course you'll be introduced to the main functions of the software and guided through processes of translation. You'll have access to the projects and resources used in the course.

By completing the tasks following these processes you'll be able to use Studio 2022 to create, complete and deliver your projects.

Part 3

In this part of the course you'll:

• import and work on different types of files

• discuss export solutions, compatibility with other software and term bases

• learn about the options available in QA, alignment, terminology and memory management, statistics, reports etc.

Part 4

In this part you'll be introduced to MultiTerm. It is the terminology management tool that comes with SDL Trados 2022. By the end of this part you'll be able to:

• Create a term base

• Understand how term bases work

• Insert terms and their equivalents

• Import and use your term base within SDL Trados  2022

Part 5

In this part you'll focus on SDL Passolo. It is the leading program in software and mobile app localization. By the end of this part, you'll be to:

• understand the workflow of SDL Passolo

• How the localization process is performed

• Localize your app of choice

• Export your localized application
