Learn Threejs, TypeScript and NodeJS to create interactive 3D content on the web.

Welcome to my course on Three.js and Typescript.

Three.js is a JavaScript library that allows developers to create exciting and very visual interactive 3D content on the internet.

TypeScript introduces static type checking, which means you can explicitly define the types of variables, function parameters, and return values. This catches potential errors during development, making your code more robust and reliable.

TypeScript also integrates well with modern IDEs and offers intelligent code hinting and autocompletion.

Threejs has become a hugely valuable resource on the internet and provides millions of possibilities, however many new learners struggle in their early stages while trying to de-cypher the huge amount of resources on the internet.

So this is where this course will help you. It will guide you first with the essential basics of using Threejs and its related addons library, and as the course progresses, each now concept will build on the previous, and become increasingly more sophisticated, so that you understand the problem that each new concept was designed to solve.

So, at the end, you would have covered many of the requirements to understand how to build your own Threejs projects and also understand the official examples better. This is so you can confidently continue on your own to build much more complex applications in the future.

All the code demonstrated in the videos, is provided in this accompanying documentation, that you can access for free online, so that you can easily copy and paste and participate alongside the videos.

    А quick course with good overview of important parts. I liked the videos dedicated to different ways of deploying and distribution the app to different webpages. I loved the resources with the code snippets always available for me online.

    Too difficult for beginners. There is a lot of information that is not explored in depth, and it immediately moves on to the next subject.

    'Curate's egg', good in parts but not recommended for the beginner or someone expecting a clear explanation of the threejs ecosystem, The teaching style consists of loading prepared code onto your computer with the expectation that concepts would be explained on how the end result is achieved. Instead you are presented with terse set of commands to get the code to work with key concepts obliquely referenced , often detailed explanation is given on an exact parameter required to achieve a certain effect without explaining properly what the effect is or how it is structured. Ultimately I came to conclusion the author was documenting the teaching material oblivious to how the student would learn from it. Secondly this is not a general threejs course as geometry and material creation (e.g. use of textures) is not covered. The course is primarily focused on incorporating assets (models) created in other programs as part of a workflow for creating threejs game type applications. On the plus side the examples highlight the coding 'gothchas' and deals with a lot of difficult coding problems in a direct way. The examples are beautifully presented with a dedicated web site. This would be useful for some seeking a refresher course or looking for a real-world coding examples. For me though this a random collection of coding notes that mystifies instead of clarifying the subject matter.
