Hello and welcome to the course,
This is an advanced course on the GNU Image Manipulation (GIMP) free graphic design tool.
Take Your GIMP Skills to the Next Level
If you're getting bored doing the same old things in GIMP, maybe it's time to learn some new tricks. Come with me on this adventure into GIMP Advanced. In over an hour and a half of lectures, I'll show you some tricks you have yet to learn. Let's have fun together creating incredible images. For simple but sophisticated art, I always gravitate to book covers.
Learn to Create 3D Book Covers
I address both boxed set and individual book 3D covers in this course. Even if you don't work on book covers, you'll find the 3D effects useful in your future GIMP work. Go 3D and you’ll never go back ?.
Learn to Create Reflections in Water
Let me show you a nice water reflection effect that you'll be able to use in your own graphics.

It's not your grandpa's old GIMP anymore...
Please note that you should possess some knowledge of the GMP before undertaking this course. This course displays advanced graphics techniques dispensing with much of the background for brevity.

I love that not only does Brian go through GIMP features, he gives you projects so that you know what you are aiming for and how to use the GIMP features to get the effects and results you want. Don't be afraid to experiment and make mistakes! You might be surprised at the results :)

The course is developing new skills at an appropriate rate. I had explored perspective on my own by experimenting this chapter confirmed my understanding. Perspective should involve the concept of a focal point. A sense of eye height and horizon. That would have earned an extra half star. I like the application of GIMP tools and techniques to a real project and that in showing the process the presenter did not rely too heavily on 'this is one I prepared earlier'. He showed how he went about the process in real time - warts and all.

I was expecting some sections explaining the layer modes atleast in advanced course but there were none.

The course is good but the new UI sucks; it autoplays all the lectures and we have lost the sidepanel which was extremely handy when navigating between the lessons.
