雲端運算 (Cloud Computing) 提供一種簡單的方式，透過互聯網、VPN (Virtual Private Network) 等的方式存取雲端伺服器、儲存、資料庫和各種應用程式服務。它有以下的好處：
- 不用花費大筆金錢來建立、執行和維護自已的資料中心 (Data Center)。
- 大多數的雲端運算服務是按用量收費，可大可小，可多可少。從此不用再估算容量，方便靈活。
