Course Overview
The MSc (EnvMan) degree programme was launched in September 1989 to address Hong Kong's growing need for trained professionals in environmental management. The primary objective of the programme is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of environmental protection and management issues, enabling them to contribute effectively in both public and private sectors. The curriculum, which draws from natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, environmental policy, and law, is multi-disciplinary and covers a broad range of subjects.
Students are encouraged to specialize in specific topics through directed studies, projects, and dissertations. Full-time students are also provided with internship opportunities. The programme is jointly taught by the School of Biological Sciences, Centre for Civil Society and Governance, and the Departments of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Expert practitioners are also engaged to teach some of the courses.
Through this programme, students gain a unique perspective on environmental management, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle complex environmental issues. The MSc (EnvMan) degree programme is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to make a meaningful contribution to environmental sustainability.
