(2) Attendance: At least 70% or above of the total contact hours of each module

Entry Requirement / 入學要求
(A) (1) The general minimum entry requirements of in-service applicants for Professional Diploma in Special Child Care Work should normally be as follows: (i) Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent; or (ii) Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E/Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent ; or (iii) Completion of a QF Level 3 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board; or (iv) Relevant RPL qualification(s) at QF Level 3 or above AND a pass in an entrance assessment, which can be either oral or written; or (v) Other relevant verifiable prior learning and/or work experience that is/are deemed appropriate by respective Programme Board AND a pass in an entrance assessment, which can be either oral or written. and (2) Besides the minimum entry requirements aforementioned, applicants with at least 2 years of relevant working experience are required. and (3) An operational need to receive the training, i.e. holding the post of special child care worker or kindergarten teacher / head / supervisor in (i) Special Child Care Centres; or (ii) Early Education and Training Centres; or (iii) Kindergarten - cum - Child Care Centres with Integrated Programmes; or (iv) Children's Residential Homes; or (v) Registered Kindergartens or Nursery Schools OR (B) Mature applicants, i.e. those aged 21 or above with at least two years' relevant working experience, can be admitted. Where appropriate, the applicant may be required to pass an entrance assessment, which can be in an oral and/or written form.

Instructor's Qualifications / 導師資歷
(1) A relevant recognized degree or professional qualification, preferably with post-graduate qualification; (2) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industrial experience; preferably in the field of Physiotherapist/ occupational therapy/ teaching Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) children/ teaching children with special educational needs (SEN)/ children’s art education/ school-based curriculum/ children play/ play therapy/ Information Technology; (3) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; and (4) Proven records of connection with the industry or professional bodies would be an advantage.
