(A) Assessment Items and Their Weightings: (I) 60% Continuous Assessment + 40% Final Assessment for the following modules: (1) Practical Chinese for Social Workers (2) Introduction to Social Work (3) Social Welfare and Social Policies in Hong Kong (4) Introduction to Sociology (5) Human Behaviour and Social Environment (6) Personal Growth and Transformation (7) Introduction to Psychology (8) First Fieldwork Placement (Block/ Concurrent Mode) (9) Working with Groups and Communities (10) Law and Social Work (11) Programme Planning, Management and Evaluation (12) Introduction to Research Method (13) Working with Older Adults (14) Working with Young People (Elective) (15) Ethnic Minorities and Social Inclusion (Elective) (16) Mental Health (Elective) (II) 70% Continuous Assessment + 30% Final Assessment for the following modules: (1) Social Work Values and Ethics (2) Skills Laboratory (3) Second Fieldwork Placement (Block/ Concurrent Mode) (4) Working with Disadvantaged Groups (III) 65% Continuous Assessment + 35% Final Assessment for the following modules: (1) Social Work Theory and Practice (2) Working with Individuals and Families (IV) 85% Continuous Assessment + 15% Final Assessment for the following modules: (1) First Placement Preparatory Workshop (2) Second Placement Preparatory Workshop (V) 50% Continuous Assessment + 50% Final Assessment for the following modules: (1) Practical English for Social Workers (B) Completion Requirements and CEF Reimbursement Requirements: (1) Pass all modules and achieve a total of 267 QF credits; and (2) Obtain an overall passing mark of 40% for each module (except the Field Work Placement); and (3) Obtain an overall passing mark of 50% for each Field Work Placement; and (4) Obtain an overall GPA 2.0 or above (which is equivalent to at least 50% in terms of overall passing mark); and (5) Achieve at least 80% attendance in each module (except the placements); and (6) Achieve 100% attendance in each Field Work Placement.
Entry Requirement / 入學要求
(1a) Obtain Level 2 or above in any FIVE Core Subjects / Elective Subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE)*; or (1b) Obtain relevant Qualifications Framework Level 3 qualification with at least 1-year full-time study load or equivalent recognised by the HKCAAVQ; or (1c) Complete Diploma offered by YMCA College of Careers; or (1d) Complete pre-Associate Degree or Diploma Yi Jin or an equivalent qualification; or (1e) Age 21 or above will be considered on an individual basis**; and (2) Pass the admission interview. [* Applicants possessing “Attained”, “Attained with Distinction (I)” and “Attained with Distinction (II)” in Applied Learning (ApL) subjects are deemed to have attained “Level 2”, “Level 3” or “Level 4” respectively in the application, and a maximum of two ApL subjects (excluding ApL(C)) can be counted for admission purpose. ** Mature applicants must be over the age of 21 by 1 September of the year of admission and able to demonstrate sufficient motivation, knowledge and potential to inducate a high probability of completing the programme.]
Instructor's Qualifications / 導師資歷
(a) Have a Bachelor's degree or above in social work or a related discipline; and (b) Be Registered Social Worker in Hong Kong or holder of recognized social work professional qualification awarded overseas; and (c) Possess at least 5 years of relevant work experience; and (d) Be proficient in bother Chinese and English languages.
