課程簡介
This programme upholds learning English skills in an integrated framework instead of separating them to suit the exam-oriented methodology typical in secondary education. Students learn and use the required language skills in connection with one another, rather than in separate courses that specialize in the drilling of one specific skill, be it reading, listening, speaking, or writing. This integrated approach offers a more comprehensive and coherent English learning experience that approximates authentic communicative contexts.

Through a variety of teaching approaches including but not limited to the communicative approach, the lexical approach, and the task-based learning approach, this programme aims to build on students’ basic grammar skills and English structures and expand their linguistic repertoire through exposure to and interaction with a range of authentic materials situated in common everyday settings. Through engagement in learning activities involving language materials of varied complexity and formality, students will become more ready and confident in expressing ideas with greater structure and fluency.

入學資格
1.Have completed CUSCS Certificate Programme in English (Intermediate Level) or equivalent; or demonstration of proficiency of an equivalent level; and

2. Have completed secondary education, or equivalent; or aged 21 or above

修讀期限
Normally students will complete the programme in 12 months.
Students need to complete the entire programme within 3 years, starting from the commencement date of the first module.

評核與頒授
To qualify for the award of Certificate in English (Upper Intermediate Level), a student must:

1. have an attendance rate of 70% or above in each module; and
2. have passed the assessments of each module.
