Course Overview
The objective of the programme is to enable the students to read, write, speak, and comprehend practical Korean in a Korean language working/studying environment. Students will be able to talk with native Korean speakers in daily, non-technical language provided that they speak at a normal pace.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to:
1. explain various aspects of Korean society and culture through higher overall communication skills;
2. demonstrate knowledge of an additional 1,000 vocabulary items;
3. apply accurate Korean language in a range of everyday/practical contexts; and
4. distinguish various language styles used in formal/informal Korean communication and engage appropriately in everyday dialogues with native Korean speakers.

Module 1 Advanced Korean 1 (54 hours)
This module aims to provide Advanced-level Korean learners with a proper learning experience with different elements of the Korean language through intricate knowledge of Korean culture, complex vocabulary, grammar, everyday conversations, and essay skills at Level 5-6 of TOPIK standards (Test of Proficiency in Korean).
Module 2 Advanced Korean 2 (54 hours)
This module is a continuation of “Advanced Korean 1”, and it aims to provide and enhance advanced-level Korean learners with a proper learning experience with different elements of the Korean language through intricate knowledge of Korean culture, complex vocabulary, grammar, everyday conversations, and essay skills at Level 5-6 of TOPIK standards (Test of Proficiency in Korean).

Admission Requirements
1. Completion of CUSCS Certificate Programme in Korean (Intermediate) or equivalent; or demonstration of proficiency of an equivalent level; and
2. Completion of secondary education, or equivalent; or
3. Aged 21 or above
Normal and Maximum Study Period
Normal Study Period: about 1.5 years
Maximum Study Period: Students must complete the programme within 3 years
Assessment Methods
Presentation, tests and final examination
Award of Certificate
a) Have an attendance rate of 70% or above in each module; and
b) Have passed the assessment of each module.
Students must complete the programme within the maximum study period (3 years).
