Course Overview
Objectives
This programme intends to help students to understand the basics of photography, digital darkroom techniques skills to handle common photographic tasks and handle small scale photographic project independently. Graduates can also peruse more commercial photography skills in areas of events, wedding, fashion, product etc., or peruse fine art style photography studies afterwards.
Award of Certificate
To qualify for the award of 'Certificate in Digital Creative Photography', students are required to have an attendance rate of 70% for each course and have passed the assessments of each course.
Admission Requirements
Applicants shall have basic knowledge of personal computers, and
1. completion of secondary education, or equivalent; or
2. aged 21 or above.

What You’ll Learn
Content
1. Introduction to Photography (30hr)
This course will introduce the basics of photography to students, which include practical skills of operating common digital cameras and equipment, and fundamental concepts of visual communication design in photography. It also covers basic studio photography practices, in which students are trained to handle common tasks in studio photography.
2. Creative Photographic Techniques (30hr)
This course is designed to provide further develop the knowledge and skills for students to enhance the creative processes for photography. It introduces more visual communication concepts and practical skills of camera and lens controls, lighting effects and use of other equipment. Students will be able to handle most common photography tasks and develop a creative style and visual problem-solving skills.
3. Digital Imaging Processing and Design (30hr)
This course is designed to give students the essential skills in digital image processing to enable them to handle digital photography post-production. The course will cover the workflow and practical skills in using photo editing software (e.g. Photoshop / Lightroom, etc.) to enhance, retouch and apply special effects to the photos, as well as performing the basic digital design production for print, screen and web sharing.
