(A) Types of Assessments and their Weightings: (1) Core module: (i) Basic Laboratory Management (Construction Materials) (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (ii) Testing Technology - Infrared Thermography (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (iii) Testing Technology - Half-cell Potential Measurement, Covermeter Survey and Pull-off Tester (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (iv) Testing Technology - Concrete and Rebar Quality Test (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (v) Water Leakage Detection and Repair (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (2) Elective Modules: (i) Concrete Technology (Mix and Properties) (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (ii) Concrete Technology (Application and Quality Control) (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (iii) Building Defects and Condition Survey (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (iv) Repair of Building Defects (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (v) Statutory Control on Building Inspection and Maintenance (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (vi) Testing Technology - Surface Penetration Radar Survey (CA:EA, 50%:50%) (B) Course Completion Requirements: (1) Overall passing mark:40% (2) Passing mark for each assessment item / module: 40% or above for each module (3) Attendance requirement: 70% for each module (C) CEF Reimbursement Requirements: (1) Attendance Requirement: 70% for each module (2) Overall passing mark: 50% or above for each module
Entry Requirement / 入學要求
(1) Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent plus 1 year working experience; or (2) Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E/Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent plus 2 years working experience; or (3) Completion of a QF Level 3 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board and plus 1 year relevant working experience; or (4) Mature applicant, i.e. 21 year of age or above plus at least 2 years’ relevant work experience may be admitted subject to passing an interview and/or aptitude test, if necessary.
